Optical Research and Development
Computer Optics Inc (COI, Inc.) is housed in a 25,000 square foot facility
in Hudson, NH. COI was founded in 1985 to design and manufacture custom computer
controlled precision zoom lenses for both military and aerospace applications.
We have successfully deployed optics for the US Space Shuttle, munitions and
various reconnaissance platforms. Our clients include US Army, US Navy, US
Air Force, US Marines, NASA, Naval Research Laboratory, Redstone Arsenal,
BMDO, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Lockheed Martin, General Electric,
Boeing, Raytheon and others that value precision optical systems.
Research and development of optical materials and processes has been at the center of Computer Optics Inc's success since our inception. We have participated in several SBIR projects.
4X IR munitions seeker optic
Phase I SBIR successfully completed.
Phase II SBIR successfully completed.
This precision optic improves circular error probability by eliminating borescope errors. This lens is optically compensated and does away with the traditional cams found in other designs.
Hydrogen flame sensor
Phase I SBIR successfully completed.
This technology is commercially available.
Computer Optics Inc. research and development has established a method to reliably detect burning hydrogen gas in environments where detection is normally impossible.
